As our Vision states, we will produce a high quality wastewater effluent to protect our nation’s water resources. Too much nitrogen or phosphorus, often called “nutrients”, can cause too much algae to grow, causing environmental problems. In accordance with this, American Bottoms has always strived to be at the leading edge of nutrient removal, installing one of the first biological nitrogen removal processes in the state. We have a robust monitoring program in place that helps with the continual evaluation and improvements of the nutrient removal processes in place with a strong focus on our Mission to operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities that are Safe, Compliant, and Cost Effective.
